Software Engineer III – Big Data (Backend) Remote – Brazil (São Paulo) Compensation 2,200 usd monthly We're looking for a Software Engineer III with strong backend engineering experience and hands-on expertise in Big Data systems to join to our team. In this role, you'll build user-facing features at massive scale, working across backend development, distributed systems, data processing, and product-driven engineering. What You'll Do Contribute to the full product lifecycle: requirements, development, A/B testing, and launch validation. Collaborate closely with product, design, and client teams to deliver end-to-end functionality. Write reliable, maintainable, and high-quality code supported by automated testing. Work with world-class engineers on high-impact, large-scale systems. What We're Looking For 3–5+ years of backend engineering experience (Java strongly preferred; Python a plus). Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies: Hadoop, Spark, MapReduce, or other distributed processing frameworks. Strong understanding of backend fundamentals—REST APIs, storage, caching, distributed systems. Ability to clearly explain system designs, architecture, and product implications. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience building consumer or business-facing products at scale. Nice to have: Power BI or Big Data tooling exposure, automation experience.
