With a proven track record in audience research services across 50+ countries, Kantar Media is at the forefront of technological developments in audience measurement in the media industry, working with broadcasters and advertisers, media agencies and industry committees.

About the Project/Role

Kantar Media produces a set of high-quality syndicated data reports for clients that are gathered and prepared by a combination of hardware, software, and operations teams. These teams of operators work to deliver fast and accurate interpretation and analysis of the world’s media consumption on a daily/weekly/monthly cadence. The role is to apply the latest data engineering techniques to improve/automate the software and systems used by this process and these operators to both save on costs and amplify the operator quality/capability.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data pipelines and infrastructure to support our innovation and automation initiatives using Kubernetes and Azure. You will work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure data quality, performance, and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build data pipelines using containers, Kubernetes and Azure tools for ingesting, processing, and storing computer vision & NLP data from various sources.
  • Develop and maintain secure and compliant data transformations and cleaning processes using Python to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Implement data catalogue, data validation and monitoring tools to track pipeline performance and identify issues.
  • Design and optimize data storage solutions for large-scale datasets using Azure services like Data Lake Storage and Blob Storage.
  • Collaborate with system architects, cloud operations, data scientists and software engineers to understand their data needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Data Engineering, applied Machine Learning & AI, Kubernetes, and Azure.
  • Document your work effectively and write clear, concise code.

Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • GDPR & PII data management compliance experience.
  • Experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Experience with Azure cloud platform and its services like Data Lake Storage, Blob Storage, and Azure Functions is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles and best practices.
  • English fluent.

Optional Extras

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience with machine learning models and algorithms.
  • Proficiency in C# is a plus.
  • Experience with MLOps principles and tools (e.g., MLflow, Flyte) is a plus.
  • Experience with Databricks for large-scale data processing is a plus.
  • Direct experience of solving video/image/audio processing problems at scale
  • Proficient Spanish.
