The company has expanded steadily over the past several years, and we are preparing for continued growth. With multiple concepts and locations under management, we need a Controller who can help build the financial systems, processes, and reporting that will support us as we scale.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Controller to oversee accounting and financial operations across our restaurant group. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, implementing strong controls, and supporting decision-making with timely analysis. You’ll work closely with the leadership team to manage budgets, streamline processes, and provide insights that improve profitability.

This is a hands-on position where you’ll both manage the numbers day-to-day and help design the systems that will carry the company forward.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee all accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, payroll, and general ledger
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage cash flow, budgets, and forecasts to support company growth
• Ensure compliance with tax filings, audits, and regulatory requirements
• Implement and improve accounting systems, policies, and procedures
• Partner with operations leadership to track restaurant performance and profitability
• Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting to guide business decisions

What We’re Looking For

• Strong knowledge of accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
• Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets for financial modeling and reporting
• Collaborative approach to working with operations and leadership teams

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Valid registration with the CRC (Conselho Regional de Contabilidade) in Brazil (Contador habilitado)
• At least 5–7 years of professional experience in accounting/finance, ideally including restaurant, hospitality, or retail sector experience
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Experience with U.S. GAAP or IFRS reporting standards
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets for financial modeling and reporting
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)

Preferred

• U.S. CPA license or progress toward CPA certification
• Experience working with U.S.-based companies, subsidiaries, or international operations

Software Experience

• Microsoft Office: must have
• Quickbooks Online: Strong preference
• Toast: Nice to have
