The role of Managing Director: Renewables will oversee a team in sourcing, nurturing, and closing deals for renewable projects, executing capital investments, and managing investor relations. This position requires a strong understanding of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations, policy changes, and technological advancements in the renewable energy sector to inform investment decisions. The MD will also collaborate with management to ensure operational compliance and performance. Responsibilities include: Leading a team of finance professionals Developing and executing investment strategies for identifying, evaluating, and acquiring renewable energy projects in targeted global markets Conducting comprehensive financial analysis and rigorous due diligence to assess the viability, risks, and returns of potential investments Managing relationships with key stakeholders, including project developers, financial institutions, and government agencies Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of ESG considerations, policy changes, and technological advancements in the renewable energy sector Monitoring the performance of renewable energy assets, optimizing portfolio performance, and identifying opportunities for growth and diversification Leading negotiations and executing complex financing and transactions for renewable energy projects Ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and compliance requirements Requirements and qualifications include: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred 8+ years of relevant experience from a bank or an asset management firm Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese required Relevant experience in renewable project development, investment banking, capital markets, private equity in international and domestic markets Proven experience with private equity investment processes, including deal sourcing, comprehensive due diligence, and investment execution, specifically within renewable energy project portfolios Extensive experience globally in structuring and financing renewable energy projects across various sectors Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a solid understanding of financial concepts and valuation methodologies Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex ideas Demonstrated commitment to leadership development and training a team with integrity and transparent communication Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and travel internationally as needed Passion for community transformation is essential for this role.
