POSITIONS SUMMARY
The Howard University School of Business invites applications for the following positions:
Tenure Track Positions in Finance
Applicants for the tenure track positions should have completed their doctoral degree from an AACSB-accredited institution by Fall 2025 prior to joining the faculty at the Assistant or Associate Professor levels. The ideal candidate will be comfortable teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, advising and mentoring students, and driving an innovative curriculum. In addition, this candidate will have a strong academic background and a demonstrated ability to publish in high-quality journals in their respective fields. Preference will be given to candidates who are qualified as Scholarly Academic based on faculty qualification standards/AACSB accreditation standards and who have discipline-related work experience.
The Department of Finance and International Business welcomes applications from all qualified candidates but is particularly interested in applicants who have demonstrated interest in researching and teaching in various areas of finance and real estate.
For Tenure-Track Positions, applicants should have core competencies in research productivity, teaching, and service. The candidate shall have appropriate teaching experience at the college level. They should also demonstrate ability to conduct research through the publication of books, monographs, journal articles, or other scholarly work. Additional expectations include:
Completion of a Ph.D. from an AACSB-accredited business school with a record of scholarly and professional achievement in the areas of finance. The applicant must have an earned doctorate before the start date.
Ability to undertake quality research leading to publications in recognized academic journals, collaborate on research projects, and attract external research grants.
Demonstrated excellence and innovation in quality teaching.
Service including faculty committees, and student advising, among others.
