Job Description We are seeking a proactive Data Governance Specialist who will own the end-to-end management, monitoring, and continuous improvement of our data governance program. This role partners with cross-functional teams to assess and approve/reject exception requests (USB, FileShare, Webmail), drive a reduction in exceptions, manage incident follow-ups, and deliver knowledge, training, and process enhancements to safeguard data. The ideal candidate will have experience with exception management, data exfiltration risk, and secure file/USB/webmail handling and be able to explain alternative secure options. They will also have strong incident management and customer/stakeholder communication skills, as well as proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and to manage competing priorities. Required Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field 1-3 years of experience in information security, data protection, or data governance related area Demonstrated experience with exception management, data exfiltration risk, and secure file/USB/webmail handling and ability to explain alternative secure options Strong incident management and customer/stakeholder communication skills Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and to manage competing priorities Benefits This is a dynamic environment requiring coordination with Security, PSE, and GSD teams. The ideal candidate will have a global perspective and be able to work effectively in a remote/hybrid setting. Metrics and KPIs The ideal candidate will be accountable for achieving an annual 20% reduction in Safe Data Exceptions, SLA adherence: pending requests resolved within same day or next business day, quality and speed of incident responses and resolutions, growth and effectiveness of knowledge articles and training materials, timeliness and usefulness of status reports and executive updates.
