As a Business Intelligence Senior Consultant, you will share responsibility, assisted by a solution architect, for designing and implementing business intelligence and analytic reporting solutions. The emphasis is on business strategy, complex analytic data modelling, report design, advanced analytics, machine learning, and data science. ETL/ELT experience is critical. The candidate must have deep domain expertise in Microsoft Power BI. Experience in business strategy is strongly preferred. It will be helpful to have experience with additional data-specific areas, such as Azure Machine Learning, Azure SQL Server, Data Lakes (e.g. ADLS Gen2), Synapse Analytics, Azure Cognitive Services and Azure Data Factory.
Key Accountabilities
• Develops sustainable business relationships with clients, gaining increased knowledge of their needs and challenges to implement effective solutions through Cambay Consulting offerings.
• Presents project vision, architecture, and strategy to clients while driving transformation and innovation in medium-large client organizations.
• Assists business development with project requirements. Develops related estimates and aids in completing the Scope of Work (SOW).
• Demonstrates concern for meeting client needs in a manner that provides satisfaction and excellent results for the client, leading to additional opportunities within the client account.
• Conducts related needs analysis and gathers client requirements. Successfully installs, configures, deploys, and customizes Cambay Consulting Solutions for multiple clients.
• Mentor, train, and lead more junior staff in both project work and in their professional development.
• Creates and/or conducts testing to validate those solutions meet specifications of the SOW. Ensures assigned projects are delivered in alignment with Cambay Consulting best practices.
• Demonstrates leadership responsibilities on projects of diverse sizes. For example, may assist the team manager with project identification and assignment as needed. Ensures consultants are aware of timelines associated with assigned tasks.
• Creates, maintains, and submits an accurate weekly timesheet in compliance with time reporting procedures.
• Personal: Strong people skills, high energy and enthusiasm, integrity, and honesty, flexible, results oriented, resourceful, problem-solving ability, deal effectively with demanding situations, ability to prioritize.
• Technical: Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts; proficient with ETL/ELT, Power Query and DAX languages, complex data modelling, and connecting to a variety of data sources, both in the cloud and on-premises.
• Data: Priority given to people that also have experience creating and managing Data Lakes, Azure Synapse, and Data Warehouses.
Supervisory Responsibilities
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience and proficiency in various of the following areas:
o ETL / ELT Development is critical. Knowledge of when to use Power BI for data transformation and when to bring in dedicated tools such as Azure Analysis Services, Azure Synapse Analytics, and more.
o Experience with Data Lake, Synapse, Fabric, etc. is very beneficial. Preference given to those who’ve had experience building solutions using these key enabling technologies.
o Power Query and DAX writing, tuning, and optimization. Need to be able to build the most efficient data models possible.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in data Visualization, Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, or MIS, or a related field preferred. Master’s a plus.
