Financial Analyst Industry Analysis

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Financial Analyst to join our fast-growing SaaS startup. This role combines financial planning & analysis with hands-on operational finance support, including accounting journal entries, invoicing, and managing payables and receivables. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, experience with SaaS metrics, and the ability to work cross-functionally, culturally in a fast-paced environment.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models for forecasting revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
  • Track and analyze key SaaS KPIs such as MRR, ARR, churn, retention, CAC, LTV, and gross margin.
  • Perform variance analysis against budget and forecasts, identifying performance drivers.

Accounting & Operational Finance

  • Support monthly and quarterly accounting close by preparing and reviewing journal ledger entries.
  • Assist with invoice preparation and processing for customers and vendors.
  • Manage accounts payable: verify vendor invoices, ensure timely payments, and reconcile accounts.
  • Manage accounts receivable: monitor collections, follow up on overdue accounts, and update AR aging reports.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with external accountants/auditors to support statutory and compliance requirements.

Business Partnering & Reporting

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to assess the financial impact of initiatives.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly financial reports for management, the board, and investors.
  • Build dashboards to monitor financial and operational performance.

Strategic Projects

  • Support fundraising efforts by preparing investor materials and assisting with financial due diligence.
  • Participate in scenario planning, cost optimization initiatives, and other strategic projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master's or CPA/CFA a plus). Fluent in English.
  • 2–5 years of experience in FP&A, accounting, or financial operations (SaaS experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business models and subscription metrics (plus).
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Linear).
  • Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Odoo, QuickBooks, Stripe).
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment with shifting priorities.
