The role
As part of the Finance and Controlling team, the Tax Specialist will report to the Controllership Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for all tax related topics for Markem-Imaje and Dover operating companies in Brazil.
What you’ll do:
- Monitoring of Tax/Fiscal Legislation, understanding its impacts on operations, ensuring alignment of actions and processes with the company's Controllership Coordinator.
- Control of agendas and fiscal documentation, following and reviewing the deliveries from external BPO tax.
- Collaborate with customers such as public entities on taxes applicable to imports, special regimes,“ex-tarifário”, tax benefits.
- Be the point of contact for all topics related to tax business models and operations related to leasing, equipment sales, demonstration shipments, scrap, and donations.
- Active participation in company projects, resolving doubts and proposing tax paths and solutions.
- Responsible for coordinating and may also be required to perform accounting and tax compliance activities, ensuring compliance with company deadlines and internal controls.
- Work on GL account reconciliation activity, prepare the reconciliations for tax accounts.
- Support the internal and external audits related to any fiscal demands and in cases of inspections or requests from local authorities.
- Responsible for SAP system testing in collaboration with the IT department.
- Handling inspections from State, Federal, and Municipal tax authorities.
- Providing effective support in fiscal closing activities and submission of ancillary obligations “obrigações acessórias” such as ICMS, ICMS-ST, IPI, PIS, COFINS, ISS, PCC, IR, INSS, CIAP, Gia, Sped-Fiscal, Gis, Inventory, Bloco K, among others.
- Control of Tax credits balances to be offset: IPI, ICMS, PIS, and COFINS (accumulated balance), as well as control of PERDCOMPS.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Law, Business Administration, or Economics.
- Postgraduate degree in Taxation or having a tax certification degree.
- Proficiency in English, including the ability to communicate, participate in video conferences, write, and understand emails.
- Mandatory solid knowledge of SAP, preferably as a key user.
- A plus if familiar with Oracle and has experience in large multinational companies.
