The position

By joining our team in Exploration & Production International you will have the opportunity to:
Work as an Operations/Pore Pressure Geologist Specialist as a core member of our growing Brazil subsurface team.

You will report into the Brazil Subsurface organisation which is responsible for the efficient development of our operated and none operated asset base, bringing forward regional value capture opportunities, and helping grow our low carbon solutions business.

As a key team member of the team you will need to:

  • Have experience with common methods for assessing pore pressure, subsurface stresses and fracture gradients from petrophysical and seismic data
  • Have an understanding of methods for assessing shearfailure (collapse) around a wellbore, and operational factors affecting it
  • Ensure that pore pressure and wellbore stability deliveries in all well projects are performed in a correct, safe and costefficient manner.
  • Work in a crossdisciplinary team through the well construction process.
  • Take responsible for risk management related to wellbore stability.
  • Participate in relevant wellbore stability studies and overburden evaluations.

For this position, we are also looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or Engineering (CREA is required). Master's degree is considered a plus.
years of experience, with a proven track record of developing and optimizing large, operated assets.

  • Fluent English spoken and written.
  • Expertise in designing field data acquisition to address knowledge gaps about the rock mechanics parameters for both reservoir and sealing rock.
  • Expertise in pore pressure estimation and 1D/2D geomechanical models for the purpose of wellplanning and construction
  • Proven handson experience in presalt fields is strongly favoured, especially with a focus on salt creeping. Heavy oil and Carbonates development experience is beneficial.
  • A strong knowledge of subsurface/drilling data, work processes & engineering practices is required.
  • Pore experience of planning and executing horizontal geosteered wells is beneficial.
  • Operational and subsurface experience.
  • Data science capabilities is an advantage.
