Based in Brasilia, you will support the Comms Manager with the internal and external communications activities for our South America operations, working within a global team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global team and use a broad range of skills in a fast-paced organisation that is working at the forefront of responsible sourcing and production of agricultural commodities. Besides working in Portuguese, English is our global working language, but we also engage in Spanish-speaking countries such as Argentina and Paraguay.

Position summary

Proforest Brazil is looking for a multi-tasker communications professional to support the internal and external communications for our technical work, across grant-funded programmes, client consultancy projects, capacity building and training, and organizing events. With a focus on developing content for social media and website, supporting the demands of design and video editing, and organising events, this role is important for creating and distributing content in a timely manner, supporting image-building and recognition of the work done by the organisation, as well as engaging with strategic stakeholders. This role is suited to someone looking to be part of a mission-driven organisation, where they can get involved at both a strategic and hands-on level, working with a very smart, driven team of people in Brazil and around the world.


Responsibilities

You will support the communications manager in Brazil, working closely with colleagues in the technical and operational teams with a range of responsibilities:

  • Writing – working with the technical team to identify themes and topics to create broader awareness of our work, identifying potential outlets for articles and blogs
  • Content creation – helping technical teams to develop compelling content with the right message for the right audience, using tools including PowerPoint, Word, visuals, videos, PDF
  • Internal comms – supporting knowledge sharing and information flow regionally and globally
  • Events – organizing and supporting regional events (online, in-person, hybrid) including training delivered by Proforest, and identify opportunities for Proforest to engage at other events
  • Editing – editing and proofing written reports or documentation
  • Internal support – coordinating internal requests for support from the team and support communications manager with tasks and administration
  • Mailchimp / Stakeholder engagement – managing database and supporting mailshots
  • Photo library – updating central image repository with relevant photos for the region
  • Translations – coordinating content translations
  • Website updates – regional updates, including projects, new joiners, vacancies
  • Social media channels – planning and creating regional content for global Twitter and LinkedIn accounts; while exploring regional networks and opportunities to engage
  • At least 3 years' experience in communications and producing content in a related field or sector
  • Familiarity with digital platforms and main social media channels
  • Good editorial skills, proof-reading and writing, in Portuguese and English
  • Editing skills, working in video and audio
  • MS Office skills (working with templates in Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Good communication – from understanding what colleagues need to briefing third parties
  • Excellent time management, ability to multi-task,meet deadlines and manage project plans
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative to manage smaller projects independently
  • Highly organised with experience managing multiple projects, ideally with global teams
  • Legal right to work in Brazil

The Brazil office is in Brasilia with a friendly environment where colleagues work collaboratively and socialise outside of the office. Terms and conditions

Full-time permanent position in Brasilia with hybrid system under CLT (Brazilian Labour Law) hiring regime. Benefits include formal contract under CLT, medical assistance and meal voucher.
