Being part of the Contract Manufacturing Category team, the Senior Specialist takes charge of strategic sourcing to secure reliable, compliant and cost-effective Contract Manufacturers for our company products. The Senior Specialist assumes a key role in devising and executing sourcing strategies, category management, contract management, risk management and stakeholder management within this category.

Main responsibilities:

  • Expected to guide and influence peers, as appropriate, in leading projects or other initiatives (e.g., cross-functional team members on a sourcing project team).
  • Initiates development, proposal/presentation, and implementation guidance of category sourcing strategies and ensures alignment, compliance and fulfillment of business requirements/needs.
  • Works closely with Supplier Relationship Managers to aid their requirements from a strategic sourcing stance.
  • Drives strategic sourcing projects (utilizing an established sourcing management process) to identify sources of supply through market intelligence gathering and analysis, competitive sourcing events, cost analysis, strategic assessment, due diligence/compliance evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  • Leads cross-functional sourcing teams (key manufacturing support functions) to carry out sourcing projects.
  • Leads the development, negotiation, and execution of cost-saving and productivity initiatives.
  • Engages with business stakeholders (at the same organizational level or one to two levels above and across manufacturing support functions such as Supply Chain Management, Quality Assurance, Technology, Environmental Health and Safety, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Legal) globally to support strategic sourcing and relationship management.
  • Formulates innovative strategies that yield quick victories and produce genuine business value. Encourages innovation.
  • Ensures that every supplier relationship is established with the intention of continuous improvement in the future, and takes the lead in managing the measurement and review process to ensure expectations are met.

Main Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferably in Engineering, Science, or Business fields;
  • Experience in direct procurement and business/project management within a manufacturing environment or organization;
  • Proficient in Portuguese and English speaking and writing;
  • Proficiency in Spanish speaking and writing is a desirable skill;
  • Hands-on experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation and management, cost analysis, business cases and procurement execution;
  • Procurement exposure with contract manufacturers, particularly in the pharmaceutical, animal health, cosmetic or food industry;
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers and colleagues globally in the aforementioned industries;
  • Experience handling multiple simultaneous and complex projects involving regular communication, task prioritization, time management, and issue resolution skills;
  • Proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint and SAP;
  • Knowledge of technology transfer, quality and regulatory requirements (e.g., MAPA, ANVISA), and manufacturing processes is a plus;
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from various disciplines;
  • Project management experience specifically related to strategic sourcing projects in a cross-functional environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, negotiation, analytical and project management skills;
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, problem-solving, and team-building skills/experience along with sensitivity to diverse cultures;
  • Adept at translating strategic vision into actionable plans and handling the necessary changes for execution;
  • Capable of working with senior management professionally and with emotional intelligence.
