The goal is to design practical and on trend spaces within Hertex Showrooms, but yet visually pleasing in keeping with Brand look and feel.

The Interior Decorator responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking design projects in Hertex Showrooms from concept to completion and implementation
  • Liaise with Head of Retail, Creative Director and Buyers for conceptualisation of Showroom requirements
  • Interpreting and translating Product into Showrooms to ensure Showrooms are current and up to date AS PER Strategic intent

Main duties:

  • Undertake design project from concept to completion
  • Define project requirements and schedule implementation
  • Produce mood boards, in line with Concept
  • Set costs according to budget
  • Supervise work progress from inception to Completion
  • Create a timeline for the interior design project
  • Place orders for materials and ensure timely installation to Showrooms
  • Research and follow industry changes, evolutions and best practises

Requirements and skills:

  • National senior certificate
  • Certificate or Diploma in relevant field
  • Proven working experience in decorating interior spaces
  • Expertise in layout, colour, lighting, materials selection, custom furniture and all installations.
  • Excellent portfolio of previous works
  • Creative talent, imagination and eye for design
  • Strong Admin, Communication and Presentation skills
  • Project management skills

Artistic ability. Sense of style, to develop designs that look great and are aesthetically pleasing.

Creativity. Be imaginative in selecting furnishings and fabrics and in creating spaces that serve Hertex's needs and Brand identity.

Detail oriented. Be precise in measuring interior spaces and making drawings, so that furniture and furnishings will fit correctly and create the appropriate environment in line with Strategic objective

Interpersonal skills. Be able to communicate effectively with Showrooms, Management and Colleagues.

Problem-solving skills. Address challenges, such as Manufacture delays or sudden unavailability of selected materials, while keeping the project on time and within budget.

Visualization. Need a strong sense of proportion and visual awareness, to understand how pieces of a design will fit together to create the intended interior environment.
