As our
Senior Scientist at the Araucária-PR plant, you will be part of the R&D Application and Technical Service SFS (Sustainable Food Solutions) team and will report directly to the RD&A Director, who is in Kansas, USA.


Responsibilities

  • Work as a technical lead and team member in a crossfunctional team environment to deliver required business results In collaboration with the project's business leaders, help develop the project plan using project management tools.
  • Provide technical insights and project feasibility analysis, and execute the project to meet project milestones Being part of the SFS R&D team, helping to develop and implement functional ingredient technology maps, working with customers and suppliers to develop the science and enable technologies that will support the development of innovative products
  • Work directly with customers in launching new products, providing training on new technologies.
  • Help problem solving and offering technical solutions
  • Serve as a technical resource and expertise for internal and external customers Offer coaching and training to other scientists in the RDA to develop their competencies Technical leader of innovative projects Competence in leading and managing innovation projects from start to finish.
  • Perform technical parts projects, which include creating test hypotheses, designing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and communicating findings with customers and other team members.
  • Work and communicate effectively with all crossfunctional team members.
  • Help promote the team's delivery culture.
  • Contribute to the development of technology roadmaps. Actively participate and contribute to the development and implementation of the technology roadmap.
  • Take responsibility for the research and development of enabling scientific and technical building blocks.
  • Be an active contributor in idea generation, root cause analysis and problem solving discussion.
  • Make the connection between science/technology and customer needs for innovative products.
  • Work with external resources (such as universities or suppliers) to leverage their resources in technology and new product development.
  • Support different business functions (such as Sales, Technical Services, Marketing, Operations, etc.) as needed.
  • Deliver training/ presentations to internal and external customers or at conferences/ fairs/ seminars/ etc.
  • Be flexible in accepting additional projects/tasks as per business needs Subject matter expert.
  • Be proactive in selflearning and enrichment to bring new knowledge and skills to the organization.
  • Contact with universities, research institutes and other laboratories and external consultants.
  • Report problems or risks related to the Food Safety Management System to designated persons whenever necessary.
  • Report situations associated with health and safety conditions, whether they are unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, accidents, nearmisses or aspects related to the environment to designated responsible persons whenever necessary.
  • Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and improvement of quality, environment, food safety and occupational health and safety management systems, meeting the requirements of policies and procedures, controlling operational and administrative processes with a focus on the customer, properly managing the environmental aspects and occupational hazards related to its activities, suggesting and proposing improvement actions to achieve the intended results.

  • Able to lead and manage innovation projects through the staged entry process and coordinate DR inputs with commercial inputs to deliver project results.
  • BS degree in Bakery Science, Food Science, Cereal Chemistry (or other equivalent discipline).
  • English fluency.
  • A good understanding of food science and/or bakery science principles, food ingredient functionalities, analytical techniques and bakery laboratory equipment.
  • Customer focus and the mindset of getting results. Able to build trusting relationships with clients and become their expert. Selfstarter / highly motivated time management with passion for results.
  • Strong people skills (both for leading a project and working with colleagues and management). Open and clear communication skills. Able to work effectively in a crossfunctional team environment.
  • Able to initiate projects and bring new ideas to the organization. Able to selfmanage and manage multiple projects/tasks.
