Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain software for analysing large-scale genomic dataDesign and implement algorithms for extracting biologically meaningful information from raw dataWork with biologists and other scientists to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet those needsWrite code that is efficient, reliable, and easy to maintainOptimise code for speed and scalabilityStay up-to-date on advances in bioinformatics and related fieldsWrite technical documentationGive presentations to scientific or technical audiencesCollaborate with colleagues in the bioinformatics department and across the companyAdhere to quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulationsRequired Qualifications and Skills: PhD in bioinformatics, computer science, biology, or a related field3+ years of experience working in a bioinformatics-related roleProficient in at least one major programming language (C++, Java, Python, etc.)
Expertise in statistical methods and data analysisExperience with high-performance computing and large-scale data setsString publication record in peer-reviewed journalsSelf-motivated, works well with minimal supervisionExperience with Linux operating system and tools used in software developmentAdvantageous Skills:
