Symplicity Brazil is looking for a PHP Development Intern o join our team and help us to continue developing our end-to-end solutions.


With close work to the American team, this professional will be joining our English development program with the team, led by a full-time teacher.


As a PHP Development Intern, you will be responsible for supporting the development team in designing, developing, and maintaining secure web applications using PHP programming language. In addition to your development tasks, you will also contribute to ensuring the security of the applications by implementing best practices and following secure coding guidelines.

This internship will provide you with valuable real-world experience in PHP development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of secure web applications using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a strong focus on application security.
  • Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and contribute to the overall software design and architecture, emphasizing security aspects.
  • Support in implementing secure coding practices to prevent common vulnerabilities, such as cross-site scripting (XSS), SQL injection, and cross-site request forgery (CSRF).
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to secure coding standards and guidelines.
  • Work with the development team to address and remediate identified security vulnerabilities and security-related issues.
  • Stay updated on the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices in web application security, applying this knowledge to enhance the security posture of our applications.
  • Implement and configure security measures, such as input validation, output encoding, access controls, and encryption, as needed.
  • Collaborate with system administrators and network engineers to ensure the proper configuration and security of web servers and databases.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining security-related documentation, including security policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
  • Administer SaaS applications to ensure employees have completed policy training.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Basic understanding of PHP programming language and familiarity with web development concepts. PHP frameworks such as Laravel or CakePHP is desirable.
  • Familiarity with secure coding frameworks and libraries, such as OWASP Top 10, is desirable.
  • Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., session management, access controls).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail in identifying and addressing security issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate security-related concepts and recommendations.
