As part of our continuous growth, we are looking for a highly experienced Data Governance Lead to join our team in São Paulo (Hybrid model). This role is ideal for professionals who combine deep expertise in data governance, regulatory alignment, enterprise data frameworks, and cross-regional platform integration within a wholesale banking environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the Data Governance framework for wholesale banking, ensuring alignment with corporate policies, regulatory expectations, and global standards.
• Coordinate integration between local and global data platforms, ensuring consistent metadata, glossaries, ontologies, lineage, and corporate data models.
• Oversee the controlled evolution of data environments (data lakes, hubs, local tools, global platforms), ensuring end-to-end governance and preventing fragmentation.
• Promote data literacy initiatives across business and technology, including training, communication, adoption of best practices, and cultural transformation.
• Participate in the creation and operation of the Data Governance Body, including:
• Definition of roles (Data Owners, Stewards, Custodians, SPOCs)
• Establishment of forums (Data Council, Data Quality Forum, Steward Community)
• Annual maturity and compliance agenda
• Monitor governance KPIs: data quality, completeness, lineage depth, catalog coverage, control adherence, and maturity evolution.
• Support business, risk, finance, and technology teams on Data Quality, Privacy by Design, access standards, security, and critical data management.
• Act as the primary bridge between local and global teams, ensuring full alignment on roadmaps, deliverables, and reference models.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Strategy, or Data Governance Audit — ideally in banks, wholesale banking, financial markets, or major consultancies.
• Strong expertise in DAMA-DMBOK pillars:
• Data Quality
• Metadata & Glossary
• Data Lineage
• Master & Reference Data
• Data Architecture
• Data Security & Privacy
• Hands-on experience with data catalog & governance tools (e.g., Collibra, EDC, Alation, Microsoft Purview).
• Solid understanding of modern data architectures: data lakes, lakehouse, ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, streaming, and data mesh.
• Experience integrating data platforms across multiple geographies.
• Strong stakeholder management and experience interfacing with senior leadership.
• Experience delivering workshops, training sessions, and driving data culture.
• Soft skills:

• Languages: Advanced or fluent English and/or Spanish, with frequent interaction with global stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Treasury, Markets, Risk, Corporate Banking, or Wholesale Banking.
• Experience with global governance platforms (Collibra Global, Data Hubs, DQ Engines).
• Knowledge of data protection & regulatory requirements (LGPD, GDPR, Central Bank regulations).
• Relevant certifications:
• CDMP – DAMA
• Data Catalog tool certifications
• Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Scrum / Kanban
• Knowledge or experience with Data Mesh.
• Experience with ESG or operational risk data governance.
