Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Pedagogical Director, this position of Pedagogical Coordinator for Elementary School I aims to plan, coordinate and supervise all pedagogical and educational activities related to Elementary School I, ensuring the integral development of students, compliance with curricular guidelines and the continuous improvement in the quality of teaching. Lead and supervise, together with the Pedagogical Director and Head of School, the performance of teachers, the good progress and the results of the segment, ensuring students progress within a broad and balanced curriculum.


Key responsibilities

Pedagogical Planning:

  • Develop, implement and coordinate the Political-Pedagogical Project for Elementary School I, aligned with the institution's educational guidelines and the needs of students.
  • Participate in the definition of teaching and learning objectives, goals and strategies, promoting innovation and curricular contextualization.
  • Coordinate the preparation of teaching plans, activities and assessments, ensuring coordination between content and skills to be developed.
  • Training and Professional Development
  • Organize and coordinate the continuing education of teachers, through courses, workshops, lectures and other activities, aiming to improve their pedagogical practices and develop new skills.
  • Provide individualized monitoring and guidance to teachers, through class observations, feedback and action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Encourage reflection and sharing of experiences among teachers, promoting a collaborative culture and constant learning.


Pedagogical Management:

  • Monitor and evaluate students' academic performance, through the analysis of internal and external assessment results, proposing pedagogical intervention measures to ensure educational success.
  • Hold periodic pedagogical meetings with teachers, to discuss didactic-pedagogical issues, analyse the results and propose improvement actions.
  • Establish effective communication with parents and guardians, to inform them about student performance, identify specific needs and promote family involvement in student education.


Leadership and Articulation:

  • Promote integration and collaboration between the pedagogical team, students, parents and the school community, aiming to build an inclusive, democratic and participatory environment.
  • Represent the institution at external events and meetings, strengthening partnerships with other educational institutions, public and private organizations, and contributing to the school's visibility and recognition.

Skills, Qualification and Experience

  • Complete higher education in Pedagogy, a post-graduation will be a plus
  • Minimum proven experience of 3 years in pedagogical management, preferably in bilingual schools and primary education
  • C2 level of English with CPE or Celtic certification preferred
  • Certification of Google Educator Level 2 and Trainner and/or similar is desirable
  • Desirable knowledge in Active methodologies, Maker Culture and Design Thinking
  • Familiarity with data, collections and ticket management software (iSAMS, Service Desk+, AgendaEdu, Seesaw)
  • Ability to plan and organize teaching and learning
  • Ability to assess teamwork and student leadership in technological and digital environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create attractive content for the curriculum
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
  • Proactive mindset with a passion for staying up to date with the latest teaching trends
