On-site Full-time -Senior level

This role’s main deliverable is to engineer trait leads for increased efficacy and expression protein in planta for developing new products targeting disease, drought, herbicide, and insect resistance. The successful candidate will design plant expression vectors and test their efficacy in expression systems, collaborating closely with trait discovery and molecular selection teams. Strong communication skills and abilities to train and mentor others within our team are essential. This position is part of a team located across sites (USA/Brazil) and, thus, significant remote interaction is expected on a regular basis.

Experience and Skills

• Protein engineering and/or directed protein evolution for improved activity and/or accumulation
• In-depth understanding of transcriptional and post-transcriptional mechanisms for protein expression and accumulation in planta
• Experience with strategies for protein fusion (organelle directing/solubility/stability) to improve gene expression in planta
• Experience with plant and cell-free expression systems
• Preferred: familiar with AI-driven protein design, methods for protein/RNA quantification in planta for effective cross-team collaboration.
• Preferred: experience with design and optimization of expression vectors (plasmids) for plant traits
• Excellent English proficiency
• Proactive communication and excellent interpersonal skills for effective teamwork in a multicultural environment

Education

• Master in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience
• PhD in relevant areas (desirable)
