Job Title: Technical Lead – SampleManager LIMS

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead – SampleManager LIMS to lead and deliver implementation and enhancement projects on the Thermo Fisher SampleManager platform. The role involves driving technical execution, collaborating closely with clients and internal stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality, compliant, and timely delivery of solutions in line with company standards and SOPs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical delivery of SampleManager LIMS implementation and enhancement projects.
  • Act as a client-facing technical expert to understand business needs and propose effective solutions.
  • Conduct requirement-gathering workshops and create clear, detailed specification documents.
  • Design, develop, configure, and implement system enhancements and modifications.
  • Ensure on-time delivery while adhering to company standards, SOPs, and quality guidelines.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to internal team members.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable and high-quality technical designs.
  • Support best development practices including peer code reviews, unit testing, and documentation.
  • Participate across the full system lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and support.
  • Collaborate with multiple internal teams and client stakeholders simultaneously.

Technical Scope

Hands-on development and configuration in the following areas:

  • Sample workflows
  • Stock & Instrument modules
  • Instrument interfacing using Integration Manager
  • Report Designer, Forms Designer, Label Designer
  • Sample Scheduler
  • Batch Management, Lot Management, Plate Handling
  • Stability, SQC, SM-IDI, PIMS, Dashboards

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in SampleManager LIMS implementation and support.
  • Extensive hands-on expertise in developing and configuring SampleManager solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of systems analysis, design, development, QA, and integration methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in project environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills; English proficiency required (Spanish is a plus).
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and delivery-focused team player.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Strong ownership mindset with commitment to successful project completion.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in regulated environments (GxP, Pharma, Life Sciences).
  • Exposure to integrations with instruments and enterprise systems.
  • Experience working in global delivery models and with cross-functional teams.
