Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of supplier-manufactured components and systems used in RNG equipment. This role leads supplier qualification, audits, testing, and continuous improvement activities to maintain high quality standards across the supply chain.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Qualify, audit, and develop suppliers to ensure robust manufacturing and quality systems (NCR, CAPA, PPAP/APQP).
• Assess supplier manufacturing capability and mitigate quality and delivery risks.
• Drive supplier performance improvement aligned with quality, cost, and delivery targets.
• Lead product and process qualification activities at supplier sites.
• Plan and execute FAT and SAT activities for components and fully assembled RNG systems.
• Review test procedures, validate instrumentation, document non-conformances, and issue acceptance reports.
• Develop and implement inspection plans, test procedures, SOPs, and acceptance criteria.
• Manage non-conforming supplier components and oversee root cause investigations using structured methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, AWS, NR13).
• Identify cost reduction and quality improvement opportunities with supply chain and engineering teams.
• Lead Kaizen and standardized work initiatives at supplier facilities.
• Maintain accurate records of supplier processes, audits, test results, and corrective actions.
• Prepare technical documentation, databooks, and management reports.
• Partner with internal teams (manufacturing, purchasing, QA/QC).
• Train and mentor quality personnel on qualification, testing, and inspection processes.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in manufacturing or quality roles; 1–3+ years in Supplier Quality Engineering.
• Strong understanding of integrated process systems (e.g., gas processing, upgrading systems, controls).
• Strong technical capability with Supplier audits, FAT/SAT leadership, GD&T, P&ID interpretation, ISO 9001, root cause analysis.
• Preferred with knowledge in standards as ASTM A516 Gr.70, ABNT NBR 6656 USI SAC 50, ABNT NR-12, NR-13, ASME VIII Div.1, ISO 2768-mK, MTC EN 10204 Type 3.1, ANSI class, AWS A2.4, ASTM A36, ABNT NBR 7007 MR250, and SSPC-SP6/SP10.
• Experience working directly with customers and plant operators in on-site environments.
• Ability to work across functions and influence without direct authority.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise updates to leadership.
• English proficiency required.
