Working within the Product team at Fastmarkets the Product Operations Manager will focus on streamlining product development processes, workflows and collaboration across our organisation.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a business information provider and have been an active part of the product team, with hands on product management experience. They should have a solid understanding of the product development life cycle and the optimal processes, tool kit and skills that are needed to optimise this. They should have a thirst for improving processes, supporting multiple growth initiatives, and thrive in a fast paced environment. This is a new function to Fastmarkets and we are looking for a self starter with operational experience in driving effective product development processes.

Principal Accountabilities

• Set up best practice to optimise the product development processes by identifying areas for improvement and standardisation
• Assess current toolset used by product management and recommend and implement alternatives as needed
• Collate, organise and analyse product data to help product management make informed decisions
• Streamline communication between the product team and other teams in the organisation, championing best practice for the dissemination of product related communications and content
• Support go to market planning and execution for product led initiatives through effective project management and facilitation
• Manage customer facing product information and content in conjunction with the product management, customer success and product marketing teams
• Ensure product release notifications are published and accessible in line with product updates
• Ultimately lead a small team of product operations professionals to provide end-to-end support for the product management function and the growth initiatives they drive

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly.

• Excellent spoken and written English is required
• Hands on experience as a product manager or in a product related role with a strong understanding of the product development lifecycle
• Experience working with Agile development teams and acting as a product owner
• Strong project management and organisational skills
• Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to work across a diverse organisation and adjust style and delivery based on the audience
• Ability to work proficiently with large data sets to provide concise insights and outcomes
• Preferably experience as a people manager
• An understanding of commodity markets and financial information provision preferable
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines
• Detail orientated but also able to interpret and respond to the ‘big picture’
