Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

We are looking for a full-time, remote Senior Quality Engineer with 5+ years of experience, including 2+ years of experience with test automation systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with product and development teams to drive quality throughout the entire software lifecycle. This role involves defining test strategies and plans, developing and executing test cases, and building automation scripts to ensure high-quality software delivery. The Senior QA Engineer will also analyze system performance and contribute to ongoing automation efforts to enhance testing efficiency and reliability.Our client provides integrated software and marketing solutions for the hospitality industry, specializing in short-term rental management. Their platform provides vacation rental companies with an enterprise-class Property Management System integrating booking, guest communications, and financial reporting systems - all built with partner organization integrations in mind.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements fully and ensure that test plans, methods, and strategies will cause delivered software to meet or exceed expectationsDrive the successful validation of large-scale systems, creating test plans, cases, and strategies, as well as driving quality assurance processesDevelop intelligent and efficient testing strategies to dramatically increase the ratio of internally found defects versus customer-reported defectsDesign, develop, and maintain automation tests using the chosen frameworksPlan and perform functional, E2E, and regression testing, keeping pace with the Agile team, and reporting and finding issuesProvide test summary reports that communicate key quality indicators, risks, and mitigations to leadershipAccurately estimate testing requirements for input into planning effortsEnhance the test case library to increase test case coverageStrive to ensure quality releases of software with no production downs and/or critical impediments to usersProvide mentorship and guidance to junior QA engineersRequired ExperienceExcellent English communication and collaboration skills5+ years of quality assurance engineering experience working with web applications and/or SaaS applications in an Agile / Scrum environment with a strong focus on automation2+ years of experience working with Cypress or Playwright to automate UI and API tests using TypeScript and/or JavaExperience building and maintaining not only the tests themselves but also the infrastructure that enables the testsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailFluent in SQL and relational databases, including experience testing relational database-backed applicationsFamiliar with CI/CD (Github Actions preferred)Experience with performance testing and pressure testingMotivation to achieve - must be self-directed with a high degree of initiativeTrustworthy, team-oriented, and transparentDesired ExperienceUniversity degree or equivalent education (a technical or engineering degree is optimal)Programming Languages: JavaScript and PythonOthers: Webdriver, Cucumber, Karate, Postman, Amazon S3, Mailtrap, Sentry, and TestrailAdditional InformationKnowing your ideas are heard and matter, think bigYou get to own your job and be recognized for your contributionsWork with innovative and creative peopleMaking mistakes is human.
