Senior Back-End Engineer

We are looking for a remote, full-time Senior Back-End Engineer with 5+ years of back-end software experience, including API and domain model design as well as JavaScript and Node.js development, to join our U.S. client's Platform Engineering team. The ideal candidate will design, build, and deliver high-quality, performant back-end services that power a world-class compliance and trust automation platform. The Platform Engineering team focuses on core components, such as authentication, RBAC, data architecture, and back-end infrastructure, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability across the product suite.Our client makes trust-building in business relationships effortless. At their core, our clients take the drudgery out of compliance by automating critical compliance activities and bringing joy to a traditionally drab space. The client's software platform enables companies to quickly and cost-effectively adopt formal security and privacy programs, measure their effectiveness against compliance standards, and share program achievements with customers via AI to answer security questionnaires. As a result, compliance becomes habitual, simple to understand and implement, and continuously verifiable, allowing businesses to gain transparency into their compliance status. ResponsibilitiesBuild services and APIs in JavaScript and Node.jsCreate data models using RDBMS principles and implement them in PostgreSQLTroubleshoot interfaces and debug applicationsMonitor and improve end-to-end performance Required ExperienceExcellent verbal and written English communication skills5+ years of back-end software development experience designing APIs and domain models with knowledge of JavaScript and Node.jsExperience designing RDBMSs to support real-world application usageUnderstanding of authentication and authorization protocols, such as OAuth, OIDC, and SAMLExcellent troubleshooting skills and experience with debugging and performance testingA focus on delivering value and being action-orientedGreat listening skills and a willingness to understand what your customers and team members need to be successfulA collaborative approach, a can-do attitude, and a relentlessness in pursuing goals and solving problemsA willingness to learn from others and admit when you've made a mistakeDesired ExperienceUniversity degree in computer science, engineering, or related fieldAdditional InformationKnow that your ideas are heard and matter.
