JOB OVERVIEW

The Site HS&E Leader, also known as the Site Safety Leader, is a key role responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) policies, procedures, and programs at the site level. Reporting to management, this position plays a crucial role in promoting a safe and environmentally compliant workplace.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• the site leaders of the resources required both in terms of personnel and finance for the Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and programs to be implemented efficiently and effectively.
• that the company is aware of forthcoming legislation and the likely impact it will have on the business, and that the company complies with current legislation.
• the facility with technical expertise concerning Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and programs.
• and monitor appropriate objectives and targets, policies, procedures and programs in order to comply with legislative requirements and ensure continuous improvements in safety and environmental systems and report.
• a site HS&E Action Plan to include all site HS&E actions and ensure tracking and completion process is in place.
• management meetings as appropriate to provide feedback in relation to Health, Safety and Environmental performance and related issues.
• that suitable and sufficient incident reporting systems are in place for all department locations, in line with the requirements including communication, escalation, reporting, investigation and actions to prevent recurrence.
• that suitable Near Miss reporting systems are in place for all department locations.
• that suitable Behavior Observation reporting systems are in place for all department locations.
• and provide accident statistics monthly, including lost time incidents and accident trends for senior management to review.
• that suitable and sufficient risk assessments are conducted and that adequate control measures are implemented throughout the business, which are commensurate with the degree of risk involved.
• HSE audit schedule in line with the requirements of company and any additional country specific legal requirements and audit the sites performance against the expected outcome of the Coty HS&E 6 Key Element Management Program.
• resolve health, safety and environment related problems as they occur.
• that relevant health and safety records are kept in an orderly manner and are readily available for inspection upon request.
• with the enforcing authorities including Police, fire authorities, health and safety inspectors etc. during visits/inspections and the implementation of recommendations following same.
• that a competent medical service is provided, and that appropriate health initiatives and health surveillance are instigated.
• that the Emergency Response team is fully trained and operational.
• compliance with all relevant Health and Safety Legislation and all associated legislation and codes of practice.
• all contractors comply with relevant Health and Safety Legislation.
• & participate in Site Audits/Self-assessments.
• and support Key System Owners in their role.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• degree in environmental health and safety or related field.
• 5 years of experience in HS&E leadership, preferably in manufacturing.
• in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is a plus.
• knowledge of HS&E regulations.
• collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• in MS Office and HS&E software.
• to travel sporadically and work in Senador Canedo, Brazil.
