Your new role


Responsible for providing direction, guidance, strategy, and leadership to Marketing Department. Lead Publicity, Promotions and Partnerships, Media, Digital & Marketing teams to plan, develop & execute the world-class tailor-made marketing strategies & campaigns for every theatrical release of Universal Pictures.

Your role accountabilities

  • Define & plan the local marketing strategy for each release from Universal slate, determining scope of the campaign, media segmentation, defining target audiences, establishing local pillars ensuring its execution; building brand awareness and positioning for each release when needed.
  • Supervise and guide Universal Marketing managers and marketing team in establishing a key account approach with both regional & home offices. Help them to strengthen and focus on long-term relationships considering that Brazil is a Top 10 worldwide market;
  • Supervise Publicity marketing team, work closely with Publicity Mkt. Manager and together with him establish the press/publicity strategy per title for Universal line-up. Also plan with and supervise him in the organization of all publicity events, red carpets, junkets, special interviews, talent tours, among others throughout the year. Help him to strengthen long-term relationship with journalists & influencers;
  • Supervise Promotions & Partnerships marketing team, work closely with Promotions & Partnerships Mkt. Managers and together with them establish the third party / media promotional strategy per title for Universal line-up. Nationwide & regional promotions. Also plan with and supervise them in the organization of all roadshows, promotional events, Avant Premieres and regional premieres throughout the year. Help them to strengthen long-term relationship & partnerships with main promotional partners. Develop symphony cross-promotional & partnership strategy within NBC Universal ecosystems;
  • Supervise Media marketing team, work closely with Media Mkt. Managers and together with them establish the media & social media strategy per title for Universal line-up. Also plan with and supervise them in the organization of all influencer events & media events. Help them to strengthen on long-term relationship with our media agencies. Always innovating and bringing to the table out of the box ideas and never-seen-before marketing executions.
  • Define & plan the CCXP strategy for Universal Pictures, determining scope of the booths, panel execution & talent involved. In charge of every single detail of the event, including talent tours & executive visits;
  • Participate in creating marketing ICOs on a by film basis for the studio, with worldwide impact, and present them to our Theatrical Home Offices;
  • Monitor data on a weekly basis, such as tracking, social listening & media reports according to pre-established parameters, and adjust marketing campaigns if necessary; providing a strategic approach to the marketing activities, identifying opportunities, consumer behavior and creating/implementing solutions, aiming at cost efficiency and in tune with challenges/changes we face within the market;
  • Make frequent visits to exhibitors and locations to understand their specific business characteristics and needs;
  • Interact and facilitate communication flow with Sales, Tech Ops, Finance and Business Intelligence/Strategic Planning departments and work closely with Sales Director and WB Marketing Director;
  • Have regular 1:1 chats with each one from the marketing team, helping them to set goals, career plans and accompanying progress and making necessary adjustments whenever needed throughout the year;

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Marketing experience and experience in the entertainment industry.
  • Must be fluent in Portuguese & English.
  • Must be a media, social media, marketing & digital expert. Should be consumer oriented.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets.
  • Must have strong managing skills, as well as analytical and organizational skills.
  • Must be outgoing and articulate to establish best working relationship with promotional partners, journalists, media outlets, influencers, star talents & exhibitors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including speaking in public).
  • A working knowledge of the Brazilian market place.
  • Must be computer efficient with a good working knowledge of standard applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, WEB browsers, etc.).
