R&D Manager - Chocolate

Manage the growth of the Chocolates business unit in the country with a scope of greater complexity, working together with the marketing and sales areas, in the development of new products and adaptation of existing products (innovation & renewal) and with the production & quality areas, as a continuous improvement team, ensuring mastery and efficiency of production processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop new products at SBU Chocolates, adapt/renew existing products and create tailor-made products based on customer needs at a competitive cost.
• Lead the implementation of SBU's Strategic and International Innovations.
• Participate in market visits with the commercial team to identify opportunities, to get to know customers and their needs, and their expectations regarding innovation.
• Conduct benchmark studies with competing products.
• Support marketing in the idealization and implementation of the strategic market plan.
• Train BD (MKT, Sales, Technicians and R&D) in chocolate processing technologies, products and trends to ensure our expertise against competitors.
• Ensure technical support to customers from all channels (25% of the time).
• Lead the execution of industrial tests and follow-up of new startup lines.
• Lead the creation of finished product technical specifications, including process parameters.
• Lead the study of Shelf-Life and definition of sensory parameters of new products.
• Provide technical support to factories in the implementation of new products and processes, ingredients, quality systems and continuous improvement.
• Provide support to the Quality area in the maintenance and assurance of Quality and Food Safety of products and participate in the investigation processes of non-conformities and customer complaints.
• Provide support to the purchasing area in the development and approval of new suppliers of raw materials.
• Ensure compliance with and maintenance of the Group's Intellectual Property procedures.

Prior Knowledge/Experience:

• Graduated in Food Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Food Science/Biotechnology
• Approximately 10 years of experience in R&D and/or Chocolate management required.
• Knowledge of ingredients and their functionalities required
• Strong knowledge of project management required
