We’re a small, high-velocity team working on powerful video infrastructure, interactive live experiences, and an AI-driven content engine.

Role Overview
We’re looking for a Backend Engineer with experience in video processing, transcoding, or streaming platforms to help us scale the core of Taboo.TV.
You’ll work closely with our engineering team on everything from building APIs to optimizing video pipelines, ensuring our creators’ content loads fast, looks great, and runs smoothly around the world.

What You’ll Work On Designing and maintaining backend services powering streaming, content management, and real-time user interactions.
Building and optimizing our video ingestion and transcoding pipelines (upload → encode → distribute → playback).
Integrating and tuning CDN layers , caching, and adaptive bitrate streaming (HLS/DASH).
Improving video performance, storage, and encoding cost-efficiency (S3, R2, or custom object storage).
Working alongside our AI and frontend teams to support new product features (AI clipping, interactive streams, etc.).
Implementing security and access control for premium content and creator data.

Backend: Laravel 11, PHP 8, Laravel Reverb (WebSockets), InertiaJS, Vue 3
Database: PostgreSQL, Redis
Storage: AWS S3 / Rumble for media
Queue/Jobs: Horizon, Supervisor, SQS
DevOps: Docker, Nginx, Linux
Realtime: WebSockets, Laravel Reverb, Pusher-like architecture
Video: FFmpeg, HLS, Cloudflare Stream or Rumble API integrations
