Job Title: Senior Java Engineer (Search and Relevancy Engineer)

Overview:
We are looking for experienced Software Engineers to help develop and improve our search and data processing systems. You'll work with tools like Elasticsearch, Spring Framework, Kafka, and APIs in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain search and data processing systems using Elastic, Spring, Kafka, and APIs.
Improve performance and scalability of our infrastructure to support growing data and user activity.
Work with teams to define and deliver new product features.
Ensure data is properly indexed and optimized for fast, accurate search.
Monitor and troubleshoot system performance to keep systems reliable and available.
Participate in code reviews and follow high coding standards.
Keep up with industry trends and new technologies.
Translate business needs into technical requirements.
Support junior team members and help guide their growth.

Requirements:
8-10 years of experience in software engineering.
Strong experience with Elasticsearch and search technologies.
Proficient in Java and Java batch processing.
Hands-on experience with Kafka and distributed messaging systems.
Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience with CI/CD, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and microservices.

Nice to Have:
Experience with other search engines and NoSQL databases.
Some experience coordinating small teams is a plus.
Exposure to machine learning or data analytics.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices.
