Financial Controller – Gold Mining Sector – Brazil An international mining company developing a promising gold project in northern Brazil (Pará region) is seeking a Financial Controller to play a key role in managing the financial, accounting, and administrative functions of its Brazilian operations. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organization and contribute to the development of a strategic asset in the region.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the activities of the external accounting firm , ensuring compliance with local regulations and corporate policies;
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, including financial planning, cost control, and variance analysis;
Manage current and future contracts , ensuring alignment with company policies and efficient resource allocation;
Maintain control of fixed assets , including registration, depreciation, and reconciliation;
Supervise procurement, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes;
Prepare and deliver financial and management reports to corporate headquarters, providing insightful analysis and recommendations;
Strengthen internal controls and improve administrative and financial procedures;
Lead and develop the local team , promoting best practices in governance and operational efficiency;
Work remotely , with frequent visits to the project site in northern Brazil (Pará region) .
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field ;
Proven experience in controllership and corporate finance , ideally within the mining, energy, or infrastructure sectors ;
Strong background managing third-party accounting services and financial compliance;
Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, contracts, and internal controls ;
Analytical, proactive, and results-oriented profile with the ability to work independently;
Fluent Portuguese
Advanced English proficiency is highly desirable.
Location
This is a remote position , with regular travel to the company’s operations in northern Brazil (Pará region) .
