We provide our partners with the complete architecture needed to operate as Payment Facilitators, enabling them to offer comprehensive embedded fintech solutions to their customers. We're expanding our engineering team globally to integrate AI capabilities into our payment processing platform. This remote position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI applications in the financial services sector while being based in São Paulo.

The Role We're seeking an AI Engineer based in São Paulo to join our core engineering team. You'll be responsible for building and deploying AI-powered workflows and generative AI solutions that enhance our payment platform, working autonomously on a small, focused team to deliver production-ready AI capabilities.
Location: São Paulo, Brazil (Fully Remote)
Collaboration: Core working hours overlap with US Central Time

What You'll Build AI-Powered Workflows - Design and implement automated workflows using generative AI to streamline payment processing and customer operations
RAG Systems - Build robust Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems for financial document processing and intelligent customer support
Generative AI Applications - Develop production-ready AI solutions that integrate seamlessly with our payment infrastructure
AI Infrastructure - Create scalable AI pipelines and model serving systems that handle high-volume financial transactions
Intelligent Automation - Build AI agents and tools that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience

Technology Stack AI/ML: Python, LangChain, LangGraph, MCP Server
Cloud Infrastructure: AWS (Lambda, SageMaker, EC2, S3)
Databases: PostgreSQL, Databricks (for ML and vector operations)
APIs: OpenAI, Anthropic, and other LLM providers
Development: GitHub, Docker, REST APIs
Monitoring: LangSmith for AI model evaluation and observability, DataDog
Methodology: Agile/Scrum with MLOps practices

What We're Looking ForRequired Experience 3-5 years of professional AI/ML engineering experience
Python development with strong experience in production environments
LangChain and LangGraph hands-on experience building AI workflows
MCP Server experience or similar AI infrastructure tools
RAG systems - proven ability to build and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation applications
Generative AI experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models)
Databricks experience for ML workflows and vector operations
AI evaluation systems - experience building and implementing evaluation frameworks for AI models
Ability to work autonomously and make technical decisions independently
Experience deploying AI models in production environments

Nice to Have Model training and fine-tuning experience with transformer models
Financial services experience - payments, banking, or fintech background strongly preferred
Compliance frameworks - understanding of PCI-DSS, SOC2, ISO27001, ISO27701 requirements
MLOps experience with model versioning, monitoring, and deployment pipelines
Document processing and NLP experience, particularly with financial documents
Experience with AI safety and responsible AI practices
Payment systems knowledge and understanding of financial transaction flows

Professional Skills Fluent English (written and verbal) for US team collaboration
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with ambiguous requirements
Experience in startup or high-growth environments
Collaborative mindset with remote-first team experience
Understanding of US business hours and willingness to accommodate some overlap
