Our team combines technical expertise, collaboration, and a welcoming approach to work that makes all the difference.About the Opportunity We are looking forBackend Engineers (Golang)to joinCloudflare’s Billing Engineering team, a critical group responsible for powering all internal and external billing services — including customer onboarding, subscription management, payments, provisioning, and integrations with enterprise systems such asAnaplan, Oracle, Workday, and NetSuite. We are seeking engineers who canramp up quicklyand deliver impact from day one. The team works in amodern, container-based, microservices environmentbuilt primarily inGolang, usingKafka, Kubernetes, and PostgreSQLat scale.You’ll be part of a collaborative6-member teamwith additional developers supporting from adjacent projects. The environment promotes mentorship, knowledge sharing, and autonomy — you’ll never be left alone, but you’ll have the space to take ownership and drive meaningful results.Responsibilities Design, build, and maintainGolang-based microservicesthat power Cloudflare’s billing systems. Develop and integrateRESTful APIsthat interface with external financial and operational systems. Work with event-driven systems andstreaming architecturesusingKafka. Managecontainerized deploymentsusingKubernetesandDocker. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across teams to deliver new features and maintain operational excellence. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues across distributed systems. Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture planning sessions. Contribute to continuous improvement of system reliability, scalability, and security.Required Qualifications 5+ yearsof professional backend development experience. Strong hands-on experience withGolang(or proven ability to quickly ramp up). Experience designing and maintainingRESTful APIsand backend microservices. Solid understanding ofSQLand relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL). Proficiency withKubernetesandDockerfor container orchestration and deployment. Familiarity withevent-driven systems(Kafka or similar). Experience working inUnix/Linuxenvironments. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to thrive in afast-paced, agile environmentwith multiple stakeholders.Nice to Have Skills Experience integrating withERP systemssuch asOracle, Workday, Anaplan, or NetSuite. Familiarity withAPI standards and tools(Swagger/OpenAPI, OAuth, JWT). Exposure toTemporalor similar orchestration tools. Knowledge ofdistributed systems,security best practices, andobservability. Bachelor’s degree inComputer Scienceor equivalent practical experience. Passion for building reliable, scalable, and user-centric systems at global scale.Avenue Code ensures the privacy of all candidates in compliance with regulations such as GDPR, LGPD, CCPA, and CPRA.
