Our client is a fast-growing AI startup specializing in enterprise intelligence. They transform structured and unstructured data into instant, non-obvious insights using agentic AI, helping companies make faster, more informed decisions and automate complex workflows, directly within tools like Slack, Teams, or via their proprietary platform.

This is a remote opportunity, open to candidates based outside Portugal, but it is important to have availability to work aligned with Portugal s time zone.

Position: Analytics Engineer

We're looking for a data-driven, insights-focused Analytics Engineer to help transform raw data into actionable insights that drive smarter decisions using AI Agents.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for new clients, understanding their data needs and challenges
  • Translate client data into actionable insights by developing Python and SQL transformations for our datamarts using dlt and dbt
  • Be a key contributor to the design and evolution of our data stack and product roadmap
  • Build and maintain ERDs and mapping documentation
  • Translate source system schemas into business-focused reporting models
  • Perform EDA to identify patterns, anomalies, and actionable insights
  • Create clear documentation for master data files
  • Recommend improvements and automate tasks by training AI agents
Requisitos:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics or related field (Master's is a plus)
  • 3+ years in data analysis, with solid understanding of data management
  • Strong experience with dbt (mandatory), bonus for DLT and Dagster
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Solid knowledge of data warehouse design and query optimization
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ownership mindset and ability to work autonomously

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Postgres/Aurora and Apache Iceberg in S3
  • Experience with graph databases or graph-based data models
  • Background with LLM-based applications or AI agent systems
  • Prompt engineering and agent tuning skills
