Job Responsibilities:
- Manage data ingestion processes into Google BigQuery using Fivetran, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Define and build the semantic layer for our data platform using DBT to facilitate user-friendly reporting and analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement appropriate data models.
- Develop and optimize ETL processes to enhance data flow and maintain high performance in data operations.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, workflows, and transformations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to data ingestion and transformation to ensure robust data availability.
- Work with Looker to translate complex data into actionable insights through compelling visualizations and dashboards.

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering
- Proficient in Google BigQuery and experienced in setting up and managing data warehouses.
- Strong skills in DBT, including defining data transformations and semantic layers.
- Hands-on experience with Fivetran for data movement across diverse data sources.
- Solid understanding of ETL processes and data modeling best practices.
- Proficient in SQL for querying and manipulating data effectively.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- High level of English language proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Looker and creating interactive dashboards.
- Experience in data governance and data quality management practices.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and data lakes would be an asset.
- College degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting
