Our client is a fast-growing SaaS platform built specifically for the construction, demolition, and environmental services industries. They streamline complex field operationslike time tracking, safety compliance, training management, document handling, and job site communicationinto a powerful, mobile-first solution.

Must-Have Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer working on production systems;
• Strong experience with ETL/ELT frameworks, especially DBT or similar tools;
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation;
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (Aurora MySQL, RDS) and query performance optimization;
• Familiarity with ClickHouse or similar analytical databases;
• Experience working with data visualization platforms, ideally Metabase;
• Experience working with cloud-based services, especially AWS (e.g. S3, IAM, RDS);
• Good understanding of schema evolution, migrations, and data documentation tools;
• Experience working in agile, startup-style environments, ideally within SaaS companies serving the US market;
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal;
• Based in South America with the ability to overlap at least 4 hours with US Mountain Time.
  
  

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with data governance tools and practices (e.g. schema discovery, metadata documentation);
• Previous experience with SaaS product analytics or customer onboarding data flows;
• Familiarity with CRM, marketing, or operational data integrations (e.g.,Hubspot);
• Exposure to AI models, LLMs, or AI-assisted analytics is a plus;
• Interest in contributing to internal tooling and process improvements.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain reliable ETL pipelines using DBT;
• Automate onboarding workflows for new customers, including data ingestion, validation, and normalization;
• Maintain and evolve our data warehouse infrastructure based on ClickHouse and Metabase;
• Work on database performance optimization for both analytical (ClickHouse) and transactional (Aurora MySQL, RDS) systems;
• Use Python to create automation scripts for integrating APIs (e.g., Hubspot, AWS S3) and handling data transformations;
• Support development teams in managing SQL migrations using tools like Prisma;
• Implement and improve data governance practices, such as database dictionaries and schema documentation;
• Assist with the development of reports, dashboards, and self-service analytics tools using Metabase;
• Monitor data quality, implement validation strategies, and resolve inconsistencies proactively;
• Create and maintain internal tools for automating data-related administrative tasks, collaborating closely with our Customer Success team;
• Document ETL workflows, schemas, and business logic clearly and thoroughly;
• Stay current with data engineering trends, technologies, and best practices.
