Capgemini is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Engineer for Insurance Carrier.

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for understanding, analyzing, and translating business data stories into technical breakdown structures. You should be capable of designing, building, testing, and implementing data products of varying complexity with limited coaching and guidance.

Our client is one of the largest insurers in the United States, offering a wide range of insurance and financial services products with gross written premiums exceeding US$25 billion (P&C). They serve over 10 million U.S. households with more than 19 million policies across all 50 states, supported by over 48,000 agents and nearly 18,500 employees. The client is part of one of the world's largest insurance groups.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
  • Total Work Experience: Minimum and Preferred: 4-6 years
  • English Proficiency: Fluent (both minimum and preferred)
  • Insurance Background: Preferred
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required
Technical Skills

Proficiency in core Data Analytics tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Python, and SQL is essential. Additional critical skills include cloud computing, networking concepts, APIs, open-source data products (entry level), data analysis, and profiling (advanced).

  • SQL / Snowflake: Advanced (5+ years)
  • Python: Advanced (+2 years)
  • DBT: Advanced (+2 years)
  • Power BI: Intermediate (+3 years)
  • Mainframe ZOS, JCL/PROC, COBOL: Intermediate (4-6 years)
  • Microsoft Office: Intermediate (4-6 years)
  • Shell Scripting: Entry level (1-3 years)
  • ETL Tools: Entry level (1-3 years)
Soft Skills

Effective communication, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail are required.
