Job Summary

The SR Technical Perfumer demonstrates good leadership skills, manages and builds relationships with internal and external customers. Completing the Organizational Leadership Program is a mandatory requirement.

Responsible for coordinating regional formula modifications and providing coaching and mentorship to JR Technical Perfumer.

Responsibilities
  • Manage critical issues.
  • Interact heavily with creative perfumers, creative center director, commercial team, external customers, GRA, and occasionally with IFF leadership.
  • Communicate effectively on both simple and complex subjects, contribute with presentations.
  • Make sound decisions using logic, analysis, and experience; solve critical problems; provide effective solutions.
  • Handle assigned critical and sensitive reformulation tasks efficiently.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage teams for effective outcomes.
  • Exhibit strong project management skills.
  • Core competencies include Business Acumen, Decision Quality, Presentation Skills, Building Effective Teams, and Motivating.
  • Focus on margin improvement through reformulation to reduce cost, complexity, and enhance catalog and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure regulatory and customer compliance in reformulations.
  • Modify fragrances to offer lower-priced versions (LPV/COV).
  • Manage material sourcing and alternatives.
  • Support rationalization efforts and develop line extension fragrances.
  • Address technical issues through formula modifications.
  • Review formulas for manufacturing feasibility.
  • Manage internal and external customer relationships.
  • Develop and mentor team members.
  • Lead regional activities and teams.
Requirements

Open-ended time span; typically 8-10 years of experience in Technical Perfumery. No automatic progression to SR Technical Perfumer.
