This position is responsible for executing all functions related to the Electrical Engineering Department and associated projects. The primary responsibility is to ensure proper electrical design, development, and installation of electrical hardware and systems, supporting electrical engineering and design functions. The Electrical Engineer will provide guidance and support to the Electrical Design Group to effectively execute electrical designs, projects, and schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Electrical Engineering projects, interface with customers, and ensure customer satisfaction (Travel as required).
- Understand all project requirements, specifications, and objectives.
- Define Electrical and Instrumentation scope of work and develop necessary specifications.
- Implement quality management plans following ABEC standards.
- Perform electrical estimating and forecasting.
- Coordinate design and manufacturing efforts to ensure compliance.
- Assist in developing control panel layouts, electrical schematics, instrument and control loop drawings, assembly drawings, and bill of materials.
- Maintain organized project records.
- Develop hardware documentation, including details, setup parameters, and operation and maintenance manuals. Provide training to end users.
- Offer technical support to customers, sales, and marketing teams.
- Evaluate and recommend electrical upgrades for existing equipment or systems.
- Develop control hardware design specifications.
- Support customer field service requirements, both planned and unplanned.
- Assist with commissioning, startup, and customer quality testing as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Travel when necessary.
- Identify and promote continuous improvement opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years' experience with electrical power systems, including 400/480 VAC supply and motor control circuits.
- Experience with electrical sizing, load calculations, short circuit, heat load, and power consumption.
- Good understanding of PLC hardware applications.
- Knowledge of process instrumentation.
- Familiarity with NEC (NFPA 70) and UL508 standards.
- European standards such as ATEX and IEC are preferred.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives is a plus.
Desired Attributes:
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Inventor EPlan software.
- Familiarity with OEM work processes and business models.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Experience in designing, specifying, and selecting electrical components and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of control loop drawings and I/O lists.
- Prior experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) is advantageous.
