In this role, you'll lead and mentor a high-performing development team building and maintaining scalable systems in a microservices environment.
You will own technical decisions, guide architecture and design, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across the company. You'll be responsible for setting best practices, ensuring code quality, and enabling your team to deliver high-impact software efficiently.
What To Expect In This Role (Responsibilities)
Lead and mentor a remote development team focused on backend solutions using Java.
Own architectural and technical decisions to ensure scalable, maintainable systems.
Drive best coding practices, including performance, resilience, and clean architecture.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, QA, and DevOps teams across time zones.
Contribute hands-on to critical development tasks and guide delivery processes.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in backend development with Java.
Proven experience leading remote engineering teams.
Strong knowledge of microservices, Spring Framework, and object-oriented design.
Experience with relational databases, ORM tools (Hibernate/JPA), and test-driven development.
Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).
Nice to Have
Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or DynamoDB.
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Knowledge of event-streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Background in DevOps or platform engineering initiatives.
Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
