Physical Security Manager, DCC Communities

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking to hire a highly motivated, customer-obsessed professional to provide hands-on support to our Data Center Infrastructure Operations team in São Paulo.

As a Data Center Security Manager (DSM), individual contributor (IC), you will be responsible for running day-to-day data center security operations, supporting and executing security projects and programs, and ensuring audit compliance with AWS policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a contract guard force at the cluster level, overseeing more than 200 personnel in daily operations
  • Handling operations across multiple sites, including security incidents and escalations
  • Providing after-hours on-call support and participating in large-scale event responses
  • Participating in security audits and reviews
  • Implementing processes in compliance with AWS policies and legal requirements
  • Developing security policies and procedures
  • Reporting on security operations to management
  • Overseeing security construction and retrofit projects
  • Contributing to financial analysis for security requirements
  • Collaborating with teams to protect personnel, information, and assets
Key ResponsibilitiesSecurity Operations & Strategy:
  • Managing security operations across multiple sites
  • Executing security strategies to meet management goals
  • Identifying security gaps through facility inspections
  • Investigating incidents and discrepancies
  • Driving security awareness campaigns
Vendor & Contract Management:
  • Managing contracts with security vendors
  • Setting and monitoring SMART goals for contractors
  • Overseeing subcontractors providing security services and systems
Training & Performance Management:
  • Enhancing security training programs
  • Teaching security procedures and processes
Core Security Expertise:
  • Over 5 years of security operations experience
  • Performing security risk assessments
  • Investigating incidents and reporting
  • Making quick decisions and action plans
  • Training others in security procedures
Management & Professional Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Over 3 years of vendor management experience
  • Creating and managing KPIs
  • Ability to work independently
Technical & Administrative Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Fluency in English
Mobility & Availability:
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel
  • Owns a car
  • Participates in on-call rotation
Soft Skills & Development:
  • Teamwork skills
  • Membership in security professional bodies (e.g., ASIS)
  • Security certifications and ongoing development
  • Familiarity with ISO 31000
Technical Expertise:
  • Knowledge of access control and surveillance systems (Lenel, Bosch)
  • Developing Business Continuity Plans
  • Working efficiently with multiple systems in fast-paced environments
