Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site supervision of the Directional Drilling (DD) process, including projection of well path to predetermined target coordinates, under general supervision.
  • Assist in selection and assembly of Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) as planned, including correct make-up torque, doping and handling.
  • Proficient in using DD computer software and in providing advice and analysis to the client representative at the well site, including survey calculations and well path projections.
  • Update well profile plots and provide accurate directional survey data; ensure compliance with client surveying requirements.
  • Complete daily DD and BHA performance reports, service tickets, and relevant paperwork (well data spreadsheet, lessons learned, End of Job Customer Survey, KPI forms).
  • Inspect DD equipment delivered on site; coordinate with MWD engineer to ensure BHA compatibility and parameters within specification.
  • Maintain records of DD equipment at the well site and ensure proper layout and backload of equipment after job completion.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years of field experience in Directional Drilling.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline.
