While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.

• Build, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams.
• Partner cross-functionally to define the vision, roadmap, and strategy.
• Shape technical direction, architecture, and operational excellence—ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Drive engineering rigor: set standards, metrics, and processes for quality and delivery.
• Inspire team culture—promote innovation, ownership, and high standards.
• Balance strategy and execution across ambiguous, high-stakes initiatives.

• 5+ years managing engineering teams, with experience managing senior leaders.
• 10+ years architecting, delivering, and scaling software products or services.
• Track record of forming culture, maintaining velocity, and maintaining operational discipline.
• Skilled at framing technical trade-offs and translating business needs into engineering outcomes.
• Comfortable both in guiding hands-on technical work and elevating long-term strategic thinking.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)). Pay Range: $350,200 — $412,000 USD
