Position

We are currently seeking an individual to join our hard-working, dedicated team as a Substation General Foreman.

• Lead, supervise and coordinate multiple projects and manage an in-house electrical crew (foremen, team leaders, electricians, apprentices, laborers) as well as subcontractors and temporary employees on commercial, industrial and specialty projects, including medium and high voltage substation construction up to $10 million.
• Coordinate and communicate with customers and owner's representatives on all aspects of job scope; ensure safety and efficiency, high performance, and reliability in energy infrastructure projects.
• Oversee, pre-plan, and schedule all aspects of multiple electrical construction projects, including manpower, equipment, tools, and materials, in conjunction with project management, other trades, subcontractors, vendors, customers, and project ownership.
• Lay out work including site and civil work; apply thorough knowledge of electrical materials and tools for commercial, industrial, or specialty installations.
• Travel to projects outside the local area as needed, including overnight stays for extended periods.
• Demonstrate expertise in 138kV, 69kV and 15kV installations and work around medium/high voltage equipment.
• Maintain professional relationships with company staff, customers, management, field team, vendors and subcontractors.
• Manage paperwork daily (manpower scheduling, daily journal, and related tasks); review and approve timecards weekly for project management and payroll.
• Analyze and interpret blueprints (architectural, civil, electrical, fire suppression, HVAC, plumbing) and change orders.
• Manage bill of materials and project labor needs; monitor change orders and risk; approve change orders prior to work.
• Attend company meetings relevant to project and leadership success.
• Coordinate inspections and oversee safety program on the jobsite, including hazard remediation, toolbox talks, and compliance with Hayden safety standards.
• Maintain orderly and safe work areas; supervise, mentor and evaluate crew members with ongoing performance evaluations.
• Communicate professionally with all stakeholders.
• Conform to company policies, procedures and safety requirements.

• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a supervisory/team leader role with demonstrated project leadership and management abilities.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Journeyperson certificate or equivalent work experience
• Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
• OSHA 30 certification
• Aerial and forklift certification
• Valid first aid/CPR certification

• Possess a journeyperson card or equivalent
• CPR/First Aid certification
• OSHA 30 certification
• Expertise in 138kV, 69kV and 15kV equipment and testing equipment
• Strong communication, leadership and supervision skills
• On-site general foreman responsibilities and NEC/NFPA70E familiarity
• Proficiency with computer tools and job-specific software (iPad, laptop)
• Proficiency in testing electrical systems and continuity with meters
• Physical ability to perform demanding tasks and operate heavy equipment
• Operate company trucks and various equipment safely
• Commitment to safety and professional/ethical standards

• Jobsite visits may involve lifting up to 51 pounds; standing, bending, or reaching for extended periods
• Work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week; overtime and night shifts as required
• Frequent use of arms/hands; ability to move continuously
• Ability to work outdoors or in restricted areas and comply with NFPA70e/OSHA requirements
• Maintain personal tools; typical tool belt weight around 30 lbs
• Work at various heights up to 60 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, etc.
• Wear PPE as required and follow safety rules

• Travel to jobsites locally, in-state and out-of-state as needed; evening and weekend work as required
• Personal transportation to and from local and regional jobsites
• On out-of-town projects, travel and stay up to 3-4 weeks
• Wear PPE on jobsite at all times
• Background checks, screenings and physicals
• Conform to all company policies and procedures
