**Job Description**

The role is within our Mainframe and Midrange division, supporting the Midrange Storage & Hardware Engineering team. The candidate is expected to be highly technical and exhibit the following traits:

  • Highly skilled and capable engineer (deep technical knowledge required)
  • Self-driven (identify and fix problems independently)
  • Ability to execute complex tasks autonomously
  • Problem solver

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Manage, monitor, and maintain enterprise storage environments
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve operational and performance issues
  • Design and implement large-scale storage, SAN, and Backup solutions
  • Monitor capacity and performance
  • Automate routine tasks (preferably using Python)
  • Document infrastructure changes and develop support materials & run books

**Required Skills:**

  • 10+ years in storage/SAN/backup industry preferred
  • Knowledge of IBM DS8000 & Flash Systems Storage, Broadcom (Brocade), Cisco SAN, Dell EMC Data Domain, IBM TS-Series Tape
  • Strong ability to self-manage workload, prioritize tasks, and deliver solutions with minimal oversight
  • Proven success in resolving complex infrastructure issues
  • Effective communication skills

Python skills are desirable; strong developers with minimal infrastructure knowledge will also be considered depending on candidate availability.
