Life Science Consultant, SAP Data Migration Expert

Position: SAP Data Migration Expert
Location: Sao Paulo, Brazil - remote

Mission:

As a Data Migration Expert, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of data migrations for ERP transformation programs. You will oversee the planning, execution, and validation of data migration activities across multiple functional domains (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Plant Maintenance).

Your mission is to guarantee that master and transactional data objects are successfully migrated into the target SAP S/4 HANA system, aligned with functional business processes, and validated against business requirements. You will collaborate with Business Data Owners, Functional Experts, ETL/technical teams, and global governance bodies to ensure readiness, consistency, and integrity of migrated data.

This role requires strong functional process knowledge combined with hands-on data migration expertise, ensuring that migrated data supports seamless business operations in highly regulated life sciences environments.

• Act as the functional and technical SME for data migration in deployment projects, ensuring alignment with business processes in areas such as Finance, Logistics, Procurement, Manufacturing or Plant Maintenance.
• Serve as the point of contact for local and global stakeholders for data objects within scope.
• Analyze source-to-target mapping, transformation rules, and dependencies for key SAP modules.
• Lead the preparation of migration templates, load files, and transformation logic validation.
• Execute migration activities including mock loads, data validation tests (DVT), reconciliation, and error handling.
• Partner with Business Data Owners to review data cleansing, enrichment, and readiness activities.
• Track and resolve defects, coordinating escalations with the Global Data Migration Expert team.
• Ensure compliance with GxP, CSV, and data integrity standards, documenting all validation activities.
• Support cutover planning and execution during go-live waves and provide hypercare post-migration.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the data migration methodology, tools, and accelerators.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of ERP project experience with a strong focus on data migration execution.
• Deep functional expertise of at least one SAP module (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, PM, WM, BM, IM), with proven experience migrating master and transactional data objects in that domain.
• Hands-on expertise with SAP BODS, LSMW, or similar ETL/data transformation tools.
• Strong experience with data reconciliation and validation processes, including data quality checks, exception handling, and defect management.
• Previous experience in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or other regulated industries.

• In-depth knowledge of end-to-end data migration lifecycle: extraction, transformation, load, validation, reconciliation, and cutover.
• Strong understanding of data governance, master data management (MDM), and data quality frameworks.
• Knowledge of compliance requirements: GxP, CSV, 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11 is an advantage
• SAP functional certification in at least one domain (preferred).

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on functional-business fit of data.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to translate data requirements into business language.
• Structured, detail-oriented, and proactive approach to issue resolution.
• Fluency in English, with additional languages as an advantage.
• Ability to thrive in global, cross-functional, and fast-paced environments.
