FirstIgnite currently services universities, national labs, and research hospitals around the globe to help drive engagement between scientific research and industry. The Full-Stack Developer is responsible for helping to maintain our existing SaaS product, implementing user feedback, and working on forward-looking projects that will help reshape the research ecosystem. FirstIgnite works with inventors and decision-makers capable of advancing society. We're seeking a developer who can become a foundational part of our company, responsible for the full software development life cycle from conception to deployment. We need our developers to be versatile, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full stack as we push technology forward.

• Design client-side and server-side architecture.
• Build front-end applications that conform to design standards.
• Ability to jump between front-end and back-end work.
• Pursue a project from conception to finished product.
• Design and develop APIs for internal use.
• Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
• Write technical documentation.

• A breadth of experience developing in different languages and knowledge of which tools should be used to solve any given problem.

• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and enterprise design patterns.
• Proficient in the use of LLMs, including prompt engineering and RAG techniques.
• Proficient in using vector databases.
• Proficient in fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Proficient in server-side languages, including PHP.
• Proficient with unit testing.
• Experience planning and implementing full-stack web-centric software architecture.
• Experience integrating multiple data sources/systems for consumption by content-rich websites.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js and React.
• Experience with web frameworks, including Laravel.
• Experience with CSS frameworks (Bulma, Bootstrap, Tailwind, etc).
• Experience with SQL Databases (MySQL, Postgres, etc).
• Experience with graph databases, mainly Neo4j.
• Experience with Node.js.
• Experience with build tools such as Webpack.
• Experience with virtualization tools (Docker, Vagrant, etc).
• Experience with Google Vertex AI preferred but not necessary.
• Familiar with CSS preprocessors (SCSS, Less, etc).
• Comfort with and understanding of version control, continuous integration, and deployment tools.
