About The Team/Role

At WEX, we simplify the business of running a business. Our WEX Benefits solutions reduce complexity and help manage costs of benefits administration for our clients and partners. We are looking for passionate technologists, collaborators, and problem solvers to join our Benefits Technology team as we build the next generation of employer benefits solutions and services.

As a Software Engineer on the WEX Benefits Technology team, you will work closely with Product Managers and customers to understand the challenges employers face in the benefits landscape. You will design solutions that address these challenges effectively, build high-quality software using the latest technologies, and follow test-driven development practices.

How you'll make an impact

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand our customers' biggest challenges.
  • Use data to measure, inspect, and drive decisions.
  • Enhance our engineering processes with TDD, BDD, Microservice, and Vertical Slice Architectures.
  • Support live applications with proactive monitoring, rapid incident response, and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze existing systems to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Apply team best practices and learn new technologies continuously.
  • Assist peers and partner with team members to complete tasks.

Experience you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in software engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for modern technologies and design.
  • Experience with C#, Python.
  • Knowledge of modern RDBMS (e.g., MS SQL, Postgres).
  • Experience designing ASP.NET RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with modern Web UI Frameworks (Angular, React, Blazor).
