Engineering Manager - SUSE Level 3 Support
As the manager of the SUSE Level 3 Support Team, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the team delivers the results in time and of the highest quality
- Representation of the team in cross functional/organizational meetings
- Ensuring the team processes and policies are up-to-date and followed
- Regularly engage with internal stakeholders (such as the Customer Support team) and occasionally interact with external customers
- Interaction and collaboration with product development teams across SUSE Technology and Product organization
- Coordinate the resolution for reported critical situations by aligning the required internal (and where needed external) resources
- Team infrastructure and tools
- Performing people leadership related tasks (hiring, training, competency reviews, coaching, driving career development, etc.)
- Load balancing, conflict resolution, vacation and expenses planning
Expected skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience in the industry
- Strong background in Linux and open source
- Fluency in English, written and verbal
- Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills
- Friendliness and assertiveness, good negotiation skills
- Ability to work under a high workload even in critical situations
- Experience with C programming, scripting languages and/or Linux debugging tools is a plus
- Experience with team management is a plus
