As an **Import and Export Specialist**, you will navigate the intricacies of a supply chain where products are manufactured overseas, and logistics are coordinated through the buyer, resulting in fluctuating rates. Your role involves addressing challenges related to documentation errors, which have been causing issues with customs clearance.

**What do you need to succeed?**
- Proven experience as a shipping agent or in a similar role.
- Chinese export experience is a must.
- Open to part-time positions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

- Working knowledge of import/export regulations and documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS).

Overview of Current Situation:

- Products are manufactured overseas, and logistics are scheduled through the buyer, leading to fluctuating rates.
- Documentation errors are occurring, causing issues with customs clearance.
- There is a need for a dedicated Shipping Agent with import/export experience, particularly in China, Mexico, Bangladesh, and Indonesia.
- Focus on ensuring accurate data from factories to avoid issues with SKUs and codes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of shipping regulations and compliance requirements.
- Process incoming and outgoing shipments in a timely and efficient manner.
- Receive and approve booking forms, coordinate bookings, and update the shipping tracker.
- Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies.
- Prepare documents for customs clearance.
- Arrange for transportation and coordinate with third-party logistics providers.
- Negotiate shipping rates and service contracts with carriers.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and customers.
- Monitor trends in the shipping industry.
- Stay abreast of new technology and automated systems.
- Implement cost-saving measures.
- Train and supervise junior staff.
