We are currently looking for an **eGRID Lead, Brazil** to join our organization. Working out of our Belo Horizonte office, our goal is to strengthen our business within Brazil. Hatch has an extensive history in renewable power globally, having engineered and constructed wind and solar power projects since the early 2000s, and we are a leader in power engineering around the world. We are looking to continue leveraging our expertise in renewables and power systems by investing in a leader specific to the eGRID team for the large and expanding Brazil market, supported by a growing local team and the skilled, multi-disciplinary eGRID engineering teams from around the company, particularly from our global centres of expertise in power systems, located in Toronto (solar and energy storage), Montreal (wind/solar), and Winnipeg (HVDC/FACTS/Power System Studies). This will be done through strong client relationships and excellent customer service. This is a role for ideal for a “people person” with a solid technical background and an entrepreneurial spirit who thrives on engaging with clients. Our Belo Horizonte office also serves as the hub for Hatch’s presence in mining, metals, hydropower, Advisory services, and Digital technologies; a particular focus of this role will be to support Hatch’s global mining and metals clients in achieving their goals on the path to Net Zero carbon emissions.
- Bachelor and/or post-graduate degree in engineering or sciences.
- MBA or similar business degree is a plus, but not essential.
- Minimum 7 years working in a consulting engineering environment with some experience in client-facing roles.
- A demonstrated background in the power generation sector in Brazil, in particular renewables (wind/solar PV) and/or power transmission.
- A consultant that is customer-focused and business development-minded.
- Well-connected and experience in energy project finance and project development.
- A business savvy engineer, a self-starter who thrives on challenge.
- Strong communication skills (oral, written) as this is very much a client-facing role.
- Fluent in Portuguese; proficient-to-fluent in English.
